Birmingham born Matt Geary is a newly emerging song-writing talent whose uniqueness comes from his idiosyncratic song-writing style, influenced by classic song-writers such as Bob Dylan, Neil Young and Ray Davies, contemporary artists such as Elliot Smith, Sufjan Stevens and Wilco plus a wide spectrum of musical genres from indie to folk to world music. He combines his heartfelt, honest and distinctive voice with a personal, woven patchwork of lyrics and word play to perform songs of intense beauty and fragility. After playing in the UK with bands for several years, he now sets sail on his own solo adventure.

Matt has previously supported Alabama3, Rosie Thomas, Damien Jurado, Mohair, RedJetson and The Ivories and has worked with such respected people as Steve Brennan (Dexys Midnight Runners), Andy Wickett (World Service/ex-Duran Duran) and John Rivers (producer of The Specials, Ocean Colour Scene, Paul Weller).
